⁣Denver — The Mile High City — is where urban sophistication meets outdoor adventure. Denver is an outdoor city known for its art, culture, food, music and sports in the Rocky Mountain region. The town is natural for the silver screen with colourful cityscapes and a Rocky Mountain backdrop. Our Souls at Night (2017), Blades of Glory (2007), About Schmidt (2002), Vanishing Point (1971), Over the Edge (1979), and Waterworld (1995) are among the few notable movies shot in the region.
The goal of the festival is to utilize this tradition and help independent filmmakers to promote their works. ⁣Berlin Short Awards is a bi-monthly IMDb qualified online short awards event. We are happy to welcome filmmakers from all genres, particularly low or no-budget ones, and all countries, especially from those traditionally underrepresented in the global film industry. Our main goal is to showcase their brilliant projects in Berlin's beautiful city for a diverse audience of cinephiles. Berlin, as a city dates to the 13th century. Reminders of the city's turbulent 20th-century history can be seen in the parts of city. The city's also known for its art scene and modern landmarks like the gold-coloured, swoop-roofed Berliner Philharmonic, built in 1963. We encourage you to submit your work to this online event.
The selected projects are privately judged by a random team of invited experts from academia and the film industry worldwide, against a high standard of merit. In 2018, UNESCO named Kansas City as a “City of Music”, making it the only city in the United States with that distinction. The city’s funding of $7 million for improvements to the 18th and Vine Jazz District in 2016, coupled with the city’s rich musical heritage, contributed to the designation. With this in mind, the festival celebrate some of the most year’s exciting and creative music videos, music and musicians. We honor great work and excellence. Entries do not need to be from the region, but should be music videos from 2017 onwards.
